There's a sign on our lawn...we're following God...

...wherever He may lead us. Well, Floyd and I are off on an adventure - at least it's starting to look that way. Why not? God's taken all our kids off to the other ends of the earth, why not us? Okay, we're just looking at "the other ends of Alberta", but, still, when you've been in the same house for 22 years, believe me, it's an adventure!!

This all started not long ago (although the original thought of being closer to Tanya and Tom in Lethbridge has been in our minds (and theirs) for quite some time) - in fact, only within the last couple of weeks have we seriously sat down and considered it. Since Floyd's illness, we've been commenting on how it would be nicer to live nearer our kids (the only ones on this continent!) as the 5-6 hr drive can be a long one. (4-4.5 hr when Tanya's in labor!! LOL!!). When we had the three girls here for a week, it made us both realize that we really wanted to be more a part of their lives - more than the grandparents they go visit once a year. Last time we were down there, we took a couple of days and did day-trips to surrounding towns just to "check them out". We were not wanting to be right in Lethbridge, but more in the 15-30 minute away range. And small town living was starting to look relaxing for us. I think since Floyd was diagnosed in March, we've both been under extreme stress and, as much as we've been giving it all to the Lord daily, our minds have been working overtime - keeping us up nights, etc. So...we've have talked, prayed, and decided to make some pretty drastic changes in our lives....

And those changes start with a move. A move from our family home, church and city - it'll be quite a big adjustment and we're leaving behind friends we've known for many years. And I'll be leaving behind a job and co-workers that I've loved for the past six. When we were down in Lethbridge area, we went to Picture Butte and found a house there that we both liked instantly (not expected!). I also have a lead on a couple of job openings and am hoping to still stay with the RCMP or, at least, in the police line of work. So...tonight we made the deal and tomorrow a sign goes up on our lawn. We spent the afternoon packing up stuff in the basement and de-cluttering the whole house. It's gonna be a big job. Anyone wanna help us move??

"Saviour, like a shepherd lead us; much we need Thy tender care..."
